On July 7, 1980, God called Richard and Tena Ford to pastor the church. There were approximately 150 people in attendance at this time. Richard had grown up in the church as a young boy, his parents attended the Church, and in 1950 he was saved in the Stafford Baptist Church as it was known at that time. He left the Church as a young adult after graduating from high school and returned again in 1973 to dedicate his life to God and to begin serving Him in this ministry. He served as Associate and eventually answered the call of God upon his heart by becoming pastor of the Church. The church experienced an explosion of growth and was remodeled to accommodate the people. In 1981, the auditorium was expanded to seat 400 people. This proved adequate until God again prospered the Body of Christ. In 1982, because of space constraints we held two services each Sunday morning to accommodate the people; and it became evident that a new location was needed. Ten acres of land was purchased in 1982 . Construction began on the present facility in 1983; moving to the facility in December 1984. From 1980 until this present time, Family Worship Center has experienced a continual development and progressive growth of it's people and facilities.The campus not only accommodates the worship center, but also the office complex, Bookstore/Cafe, Acceleration Children's Center, picnic and playground area; as well as a separate youth building, "Uprising Ministries", where hundreds of teens gather each week to experience the presence and power of the Holy Ghost, a center designed to provide an atmosphere of fun and excitement to meet the needs of this generation.The history of Family Worship Center could best be summed up by one statement...... A Work In Progress!Our reason for being is to bring people to Jesus and membership in His family. To equip Gods people for ministry in the church and everyday life and to magnify Gods name.The vision is to train His army; to be ready for the harvest; to be a light to our city; to take the gospel to the world and to touch a hurting and lost generation.

An account that can and will vary according to whom is asked.When attempting to establish a biography for John the Baptist, the Jews became aggravated by so many ideas and input from the people. Finally they asked...Who are you? What do you have to say about yourself?Richard Ford? I am not who you think I am! I am not as good or great as some would have you believe. Nor am I filled with so many shortcomings as others would lead you to believe. I am what I am by the mercy, grace and love of God.I was a sinner, deeply stained by my own selfish lust, greed, pride and arrogance. Headed straight to hell. On my way to hell, but not alone. My wife, three children and others I knew were going with me. But then I met mercy and grace. Then love lifted me out of the pit of life and set me on a pathway to the palace of the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords - Jesus Christ!Who is Richard Ford?A servant of the King! Still married to his high school sweetheart who in 1959 said "I do". Still crazy in love with her as he was in the beginning. Still loving his three children who are all born again, filled with Holy Spirit. Still having too much fun with his six born again grandchildren. Still pastoring the same church that God called him to in 1980. Still serving and loving the people with a passion. Still traveling the world, telling everyone of the mercy, grace, and love that awaits all who call upon the name of Jesus Christ.Richard Ford?Still fulfilling his life assignment. Plundering hell and populating heaven! Taking people out of the pits of life to the palace of the King of Kings.

Tena Ford is a forerunner and pacesetter in the body of Christ. She began her pulpit ministry when it was not popular for women to preach. The late, great Dr. Daisy Osborn endorsed Tena and her ministry when she said, "You are a daughter of destiny. It is for such a time as this that you have been birthed into the kingdom."As she steps into pulpits across the United States and around the world, she calls men and women to step up to the plate and discover their destiny and fulfill their purpose in life.She hosts a yearly "Destiny Conference" for the entire body of Christ as well as hosting special meetings for ladies, Pastors, and full time ministers at her church, Family Worship Center in Stafford, Texas. She also assists her husband, Pastor Richard Ford.Souls are saved, sick bodies are healed and lives are transformed as Tena ministers. Tena truly is a "Daughter of Destiny".

Internal Opportunities - From welcoming people on Sunday mornings and pouring coffee at our caf'e to working with our children's and media ministries, we have many volunteer opportunities available to you at Family Worship Center. Discover the volunteer opportunity that's right for your unique talents and gifts. External Service Opportunities - We believe one of the greatest privileges is to share the love of Christ with the world outside our church doors. You may want to become involved with us touching our surrounding communities through soulwinning, praying for people's needs, feeding and picking people up for church services through our bus ministry. In this area of ministry you will be able to fulfill your desire to serve others in many different ways.

In 1971 Tena opened her home and her heart to reach out to women from every walk of life. God placed a special calling and anointing on Tena, equipping her to rescue women from the hurts, disappointments and failures of their life.From that small beginning Escape Ministry has grown into a major womens ministry where hundreds gather regularly as they break out of the old, breaking into the new.Helping women discover their God design and purpose raising up and army of women to reach out and rescue others, enabling them to leave the past behind and step into their future is what Escape Ministry is all about.As Tena always says to the women Its time to rise up your destiny is calling!

Acceleration Children’s Ministry offers kids ages 4 - 12 an explosion of fun and excitement as they come together in their journey of learning about Jesus. Acceleration provides a place of fellowship in the café, a variety of games from pool tables to play stations and a special room just for girls to be girls.

Uprising Youth Ministry

Uprising is unlike anything you've ever experienced. Imagine a church filled with young people going through the same things you're going through.
